Laine brings years of experience in matrimonial and family law to her role at Proto, Sachs & Brown, LLP.  Laine has represented clients in Westchester County and the surrounding counties in a wide range of family law and matrimonial matters.

Passionate about her work, Laine was drawn to the legal profession by her love to debate, argue, and advocacy. She enjoys the excitement of being a matrimonial and family law attorney and the challenge of securing decisions in her clients’ favor. Laine’s personalized approach as an attorney is one that requires close communication, an individualized legal strategy for each client, as well as an investment of the time necessary to ensure clients understand their options and feel comfortable making decisions about their next steps.

Laine is dedicated to providing strong advocacy, guidance, and compassion to her clients as they navigate an often overwhelming legal process. Laine works closely with her clients to ensure they fully understand their rights and obligations under the law as it applies to their situation. Her goal is to provide clients with a legal roadmap that gives them the agency to make fully informed, measured, decisions about their family, finances, and future. Laine’s strategy includes offering clients an objective perspective to their case including an overall picture of what their life looks like after the case is over whether it’s their divorce, custody order, modification or other matter.

Laine has been recognized in her field for her outstanding advocacy by both her clients and peers. Importantly, Laine is well respected by opposing counsel for her professionalism, ethics, legal expertise, and strong courtroom presence. She is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience handling temporary orders, complex separate property tracing, high net worth asset division, and contested custody cases.

Laine earned her undergraduate degree from Wheaton College, M.A., and her Juris Doctor from New York Law School in New York, New York graduating cum laude.

Prior to joining Proto, Sachs & Brown, LLP, Laine served as a Staff Attorney at the Pace Women's Justice Center, representing domestic violence survivors in the New York Family Court.
