Traffic Ticket Defense

Traffic Ticket Defense

In New York State, traffic tickets are issued for everything from minor traffic infractions to reckless driving. Getting a traffic ticket and accumulating points on your license may result in serious consequences to your driver's license. Even your insurance may be affected even if you do not live in New York State.

In fact, it is never a good idea to simply enter a guilty plea without defending your traffic ticket.

Any guilty plea will result in Court fines and sanctions and penalties from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.

The traffic ticket defense lawyers of Proto, Sachs & Brown, LLP represent clients in all types of traffic infractions or traffic tickets. We regularly appear at the New York City Traffic Violations Bureau in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens. We also regularly appear in the Courts of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, and Orange Counties.

Speeding Ticket Defense in the Mt. Vernon City Court in Westchester County

Recently, our firm successfully represented two clients charged with speeding ticket violations in the Mt. Vernon City Court.

The first client, who was facing a 6 point speeding violation after receiving a ticket on the Bronx River Parkway and having to post bail for having missed a prior court appearance, was relieved to find out that our firm was successful in getting the speeding ticket dismissed at trial. As a result, the client did not have to pay any fines or mandated surcharges, his bail money was returned and no points were assessed against his driver's license.

The second client was charged with an 8 point speeding ticket violation for speeding in a school zone. Unfortunately, the client had missed his previous court appearance and was facing a license suspension, having to post bail with the court and DMV penalties to reinstate his license. Our firm successfully argued to have the matter restored to the court's calendar without the client having to post bail or pay any fees to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Additionally, the client was delighted to learn that his driving privileges were not suspended as a result of his failure to appear in court on the prior date.
