Cortlandt Justice Court Speeding Ticket Reduction

Attorney David Sachs of the Law Firm Proto, Sachs & Brown, LLP successfully argued to have a 105 miles per hour speeding ticket reduced to a parking ticket in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court.

The client had been driving on Route 9A and changed lanes to move around another vehicle. There was a Westchester County Police Officer that chased the client and argued that he had determined the 105 miles per hour speed of the client’s vehicle by “pacing” the vehicle as it was traveling in the left lane. There was no specific radar reading.

The consequences of a conviction would have been severe including loss of the client’s drivers license, fines, points, increased insurance rates and could have threatened the client’s employment as the client drove for employment purposes. The client contacted the Cortlandt Traffic Ticket Lawyers at Proto, Sachs & Brown, LLP to defend the speeding ticket.

Attorney David Sachs immediately prepared the defense working with the client, interviewing witnesses and gathering all the necessary information to challenge the speeding ticket.

While appearing in the Cortlandt Town Court, Attorney Sachs argued against the accuracy of the “pace”, factual circumstances of the speeding charge and the impressive background information of the client with both the officer and the Judge. After negotiations the officer agreed that the case should be reduced to a parking ticket. The Judge was reluctant to accept the reduction but after further argument the Judge agreed that the reduction was fair and appropriate.

The client was ecstatic that the charge had been reduced to a zero points parking ticket saving him from the consequences of the original 105 speeding ticket. The client did not have to appear at any of the required court appearances saving time office of work.
